Bring and Share Lunch

Caversham Park monthly church lunch.

Matthew 14:15–21
“send the crowds away to go into the villages and buy food for themselves.” But Jesus said, “They need not go away; you give them something to eat.” They said to him, “We have only five loaves here and two fish.” And he said, “Bring them here to me.” Then he ordered the crowds to sit down on the grass, and taking the five loaves and the two fish, he looked up to heaven and said a blessing. Then he broke the loaves and gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the crowds. And they all ate and were satisfied. And they took up twelve baskets full of the broken pieces left over. And those who ate were about five thousand men, besides women and children.

As part of our fellowship together at Caversham Park we hold a “Bring and Share” church lunch once a month on the fourth Sunday after the service (approx’ 12.15 pm) in the school hall. This is also a vehicle for outreach because it is open to anyone who wants to join us.

Those who come usually bring food to share with others. There is no list of what to bring but it always works out well with a very varied selection of food, often with one very tasty, savoury hot dish.

There is no obligation to bring food as there is always more than enough to share both savoury and sweet.

Because of our situation of not having our own building members know that they need to bring their own crockery and cutlery but we always have spares for anyone who is visiting or who decides to stay at the last minute.

Having read this, if you decide to join us you will find a warm welcome, good food and lots of fun and fellowship.
