Creation is a fascinating subject! It is a subject about which there are many theories, in both the Christian and the Scientific worlds, but which one is correct? In this series outlines a number of the theories put forward by different Christians, and each one is linked to a different Scientific scenario.

 • Non-literal Theories and Theistic Evolution
 • Day-age Theory and Progressive Creation
 • Six Literal Days Creation and Scientific Creationism and the Young Earth Theory
 • The Gap Theory and Ruin – Six Days Reconstruction Theory
 • Creation Revealed in Six Days and Any Scientific Scenario

Explanation is given as to how each interprets the account of creation as detailed in Genesis 1 & 2. However, the aim is to provide information about each theory in an objective manner, so that viewers can decide for themselves which theory they favour.

However, they are less sure as to the order of these events, or how they fit into God’s plan and purpose. They are aware of certain details in the Bible, but lack an appreciation of the total picture, and of what God’s overall plan is.

Introducing God’s Plan seeks to address this problem. It gives an overall perspective into which we can fit the knowledge we have, and the future knowledge we will gain. However, this is not a theological book in which the reader will get bogged down. Rather, it is a straightforward approach and the authors are hopeful that the reader will enjoy it and find it helpful in coming to a better understanding of the Bible and a greater appreciation of God’s plan and purpose for the people of this world.

The virtues associated with ‘The Fruit of the Spirit’ are well-known, but are they fully understood? If we need to practice these, we really do need to know exactly what is meant by then. In this series Michael Penny does an excellent job in explaining just what is meant by … love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control..

Titus: The man and the Letter study (OBT) https://cpurc.org.uk/2020/10/28/titus-the-man-and-the-letter-study-obt/ Wed, 28 Oct 2020 22:03:27 +0000 https://cpvc.org.uk:5152/?p=92219 [Read more...]]]> This is a series of 5 talks about Paul’s little letter to Titus which is a masterpiece. It keeps the Christian focused on God’s priorities. – it contains the gospel of salvation by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, it contains teaching for good living, and it contains nothing else!

But, some may object, where is the theology?

Where is the prophecy?

Where is the …..?

Whatever place theology has, whatever place prophecy may have, whatever place anything else may have ….. all these come after the gospel and after the good works.

As Paul put it in Ephesians 2:8-10:

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

Titus, if you like, is an expansion of those three verses. It is the core of Christianity. The videos are easy to understand, and the Christian’s goal is to put it into practice.

Some writers have suggested that on certain doctrines he changed his mind. Other claim that as Paul grew older he developed his theology and changed some of his teachings.

“One good reason why Christianity was triumphant was that it found in Saul of Tarsus, later St. Paul, a missionary of genius … Though himself a Jew, Paul took this new and startling religion out of Judaism into the world of the Gentiles,” wrote the novelist J B Priestley.

But what do we know about this man Saul, who became Paul? This videos deal with the life and work of the only person the New Testament calls “The Apostle to the Gentiles.”

As well as covering all his life (from Tarsus, to Jerusalem, to Antioch and eventually on to Rome), this book also covers all his teaching from his two-fold commission in Acts (to go to the Gentiles as well as Jews) to his final commission relating to the Body of Christ, where there is neither Jew nor Gentile.
