Baptism and Blessing Services
There are times in our lives when a special service is required: the Baptism (also known as Christening) of a baby, child or adult; Confirmation; a wedding or marriage blessing; a funeral or memorial service. At these times you will need to speak to a member of the Ministry team who will be able to advise you, help you in your preparations and may be able to tailor the service to your personal requirements.
We really enjoy Christenings or Baptisms. Both terms have the same meaning, and involve a special ceremony welcoming someone new into the church family. This is a really lovely thing for us to be involved in, as we believe that all people are special to God.
At our Baptism not only do we join a community, we also begin a life-long journey of faith. Adults can speak for themselves, but babies and children need parents and godparents to speak for them. The good thing is that in joining our community you’re not on your own. We’re here to help.
Baptisms usually happen during our Sunday morning services, and your first port of call should be to contact our secretary upon which a ministry team member will contact you. We will let you know available service times and answer any questions you may have. We will need to take some details and guide you through the next steps. Although unable to guarantee a specific date, if you have something in mind we will try our best to accommodate.
We are also more than happy to discuss a thanksgiving service to celebrate your new arrival, if that’s what you’d prefer.
